AUDIT Modules
The AUDIT group is where every session begins. These modules establish your brand's AI visibility baseline — measuring presence, accuracy, narrative alignment, and page readability across AI engines. Run the GEO Audit first, then use the other AUDIT modules to go deeper on specific dimensions.
GEO Audit
The GEO Audit is the core of SurfaceGX. It runs your brand through multiple AI engines simultaneously and returns a structured breakdown of how each engine perceives, describes, and represents you.
What it does
For each AI provider you select, the GEO Audit asks a standardized set of brand and category queries, then evaluates the responses across four dimensions:
- AI Presence — Whether your brand appears in category-level responses, how prominently it is featured, and how many providers surface it unprompted.
- Hallucination Risk — Whether any AI provider is fabricating details about your brand: incorrect pricing, invented products, wrong founding date, misattributed statements.
- Narrative Alignment — Whether the language AI uses to describe you sounds like you — your positioning, your differentiators, your voice.
- Algorithm Readability — Whether the technical structure of your web presence gives AI systems the signals they need to cite you reliably.
How to use it

Your GEO Audit results persist in your session. You can navigate to any DIAGNOSE or EMPOWER module immediately after running the audit — they will use your results as context.
Algorithm Score
The Algorithm Score module evaluates your website's technical structure against six readability factors that determine whether AI crawlers can reliably parse, understand, and cite your pages.
The six factors
- Heading structure — Is your H1/H2/H3 hierarchy clean, logical, and present on every key page?
- Structured data — Does your site use Schema.org markup (FAQPage, HowTo, Organization, Article) to signal content format to AI?
- Page speed signals — Do your pages load fast enough for crawlers to index them efficiently?
- Link quality — Are your internal links descriptive, and do you link to and from authoritative external sources?
- FAQ presence — Do your pages answer common questions in a format AI can extract and use?
- Authorship signals — Are content authors identified with credentials, establishing your content as expert-authored?
What you get
A scored rubric with per-factor findings and a prioritized list of technical recommendations. The output is written to be forwarded directly to a developer or SEO specialist for implementation.
Hallucination Detector
When AI engines fabricate or distort facts about your brand, the damage compounds over time — the hallucination gets picked up by other AI systems and becomes harder to correct. The Hallucination Detector surfaces these inaccuracies before they spread.
What it finds
- Incorrect pricing, packaging, or product features attributed to your brand
- False claims about your history, founding, or leadership
- Misattributed quotes or positions your brand never took
- Conflation with a competitor or similarly named company
- Outdated information presented as current fact
What you get
A list of flagged statements, each with the AI provider that produced it, a severity indicator (minor inaccuracy vs. material misrepresentation), and a recommended correction path. Use the Content Gap and GEO Assist modules to build the content needed to displace the hallucination with accurate information.
Narrative Alignment
Your brand has a defined position — a specific way you describe your value, your differentiation, and your category role. AI engines may be describing you quite differently. Narrative Alignment measures exactly how far the gap is, and where it is widest.
How alignment is measured
The module compares AI-generated brand descriptions from each provider against your official positioning. It evaluates language at the level of key claims, brand attributes, and competitive positioning — not just keyword overlap.
What you get
A per-provider alignment score, a breakdown of which messaging elements are accurately represented and which are missing or distorted, and a prioritized list of the narratives most worth reinforcing through content and authority-building.
Compliance Shield
For legal services firms, AI-generated descriptions of your practice areas, credentials, or fee structures can create compliance or accuracy risk if they contain inaccuracies. Compliance Shield audits AI descriptions against your official fact sheet and flags discrepancies.
This module is only available for SurfaceGX accounts with the industry configured as Legal Services.
What you get
A side-by-side comparison of your fact sheet against AI-generated descriptions of your firm, with flagged discrepancies sorted by risk level. Each flag includes which AI provider produced the inaccuracy and a suggested correction approach.
